GDC 09: the CryEngine 3 Presented (Spectacular video)
Crytek, developers of games “Far Cry 2” or “Crysis“, announced earlier this month that its new graphics engine still in development called CryEngine 3 would be shown in the GDC 09. Well, the time has come.
This video, so far unique to IGN, shows how the new graphics engine, which will be multiplatform, promises bring the realism a step further, with visual effects of stroke, our PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. According to Crytek, everything you see in the video is completely ingame and makes no distinction between what fragments belong to any console.
At the moment it is just a technical demo but the result is truly spectacular. It already rumored to be a port of “Crysis” plus “Crysis Warhead” for PS3 and 360. Hopefully this is the case…
