Fujitsu secure data transfer system for USB
Research Laboratory of Fujitsu developed a technology that will provide secure data transmission via USB. A prototype USB-drive has an embedded processor and a battery. If the device after a specified period of time will be connected to an unauthorized computer, the data on it will be automatically removed. For example, information can be deleted after 24 hours, or even when a single connection to the non computer. This method can be very effective for protection of confidential corporate or personal information stored on USB-storage, especially if they are lost or stolen.
In addition, together with secure storage, you can use special software to be installed on your computer. It will be able to limit copying of data from USB-stick. This program will allow copying of only the particular server (for example, the server company when it comes to corporate files). Besides, this software will be able to prevent the sending of confidential data via email attachments or print the file. That’s not reported, when the company plans to mass production of such decisions.
