Atomic Energy Laboratory for children (1950-1951)
Gilbert U-238 Atomic Energy Lab called was a pretty advanced game for its time (only sold in 1950-1951) and indeed also expensive, $ 50 thereafter.
That’s intended to introduce children in the complex world of radiation and nuclear energy. In those years, nuclear plants are built without knowing very well the uses that would be given later.
Today the game is a fairly expensive piece collection, some games have been sold up to U.S. $ 5000, and it’s 100 times its original selling price.
The content of this game was really impressive, several samples of uranium, a beta-alpha (Pb-210), a beta (Ru-106), gamma source (Zn-65) flashes a detector, with its cloud chamber own source of radiation of short-lived (Po-210), an electroscope, a Geiger counter and inevitable for the user manual.
