Garmin with Asus announced their strategic alliance and renamed as Asus Garmin Nuviphone G60.

The communicate says that the device Asus Garmin Nuviphone will continue with the original vision of the product Nuviphone, LBS services that allow to connect, communicate and navigate.

The Asus Garmin Nuviphone G60 finally be leaving the first half of 2009, and shall bear the Garmin GPS navigation experience to the forefront. This device is 3.5-inch touchscreen, with a number of Google Apps that will be announced at the Mobile World Congress.

As it has been reported, the “core” functionality of LBS will offer the same function of step-by-step, and
voice features found in portable navigation devices (PND) high-end Garmin devices and come with preloaded maps and millions points of interest to allow drivers to quickly find a street name or a search for a destination by category.
The Nuviphone also includes access to the line of sights through the Internet for local search and also has international, A social networking application that connects the gap between multiple locations based on social networks and integrates seamlessly into a device.

Asus Garmin Nuviphone model will be on display at booth 7C37, Room 7-Asus Garmin Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, February 16-19, 2009.
